3rd Trimester, Here I Am!

Today marks my entrance into the 3rd trimester!  13 more weeks to go…that’s 91 more days!  This pregnancy is just flying by 🙂

Baby Billings today is 2lbs and 14 inches long from head to toe!  2LBS!  He/She is now opening and closing their eyes, sleeps and wakes at regular intervals (ahm…sleeps mostly during the day and def. is awake at night, lol) and may suck their finger or thumb.

I have to go in to the doctors in the next couple weeks for the glucose test.  I’m also hungry more often now.  Sometimes I can eat lunch or supper and still be hungry a 1/2 hour later.

Baby Billings is making BIG moves these past few weeks.  He/She kicks hard and sometimes I can see when the baby moves from one side of my belly to the other…Jon says it’s creepy, lol.  I feel like I already wrote that in my last post…did I?

Well, here are 27 week pics!

26 Weeks

1 more week and I move into my 3rd trimester…crazy times!

I haven’t really had time to think about the last week of pregnancy due to VBS (and other church programs) consuming my life and thoughts.  They say that some days you can be so busy that at the end of the day you don’t remember if your baby moved or not.  Well this week has been filled with days as such.  But, by the end of the day and when my body has come down from it’s high activity, there it is…something trying to escape my belly.

Jon says it looks creepy, lol.  I think it’s because baby is all out front that I can see he/she moving from one side to the next.  Seriously, sometimes it looks like something living inside of me is trying to crawl it’s way out.  If I didn’t know I was pregnant I’d say it’s creepy too, haha.  It’s not just the straight kicking bumps I can see now…I can see it start on one side of my stomach and move to the other (it’s pretty quick and random so no need to all start staring at my belly now).

Baby must be having a blast with all the jumping and spinning around I’ve been doing all week (I’ve learned that kid’s won’t jump during a song if you don’t)…he/she must feel like we’ve been at an amusement park all week, haha.  Well, after tonight there’s only one day left of VBS.  It has went very well and it’s my favorite event of the year!  I’m not going to lie…I’m pretty tired and it’s only going to get worse in the next couple weeks (Fun in the Son, Stampeders, reg. Sunday Worship)…but I look forward to VBS each year and it has yet to disappoint 🙂

Well, I feel bigger every week.  I didn’t think I would be one to be affected by pregnancy hormones but I’ve had my share of moody days and I’m sure there are more to come.  I’ve had a few grumpy days and a few days where I could cry at the drop of a hat…not many, but a few…and they’re usually due to not getting enough sleep.  Oh, and I’ve also had a few days where I laugh at pretty much anything…so hard that I cry sometimes…also usually due to being tired.  I’ve had some moments where I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time, at really stupid stuff, lol.  Jon usually looks at me and says “Uh Oh, someone’s tired.”  Like the time we were watching “Pitchmen” and Anthony Sullivan held up this GIGANTIC calculator on a infomercial and said something like “Call now and we’ll throw in this large sized calculator” and he snickered which really set me off cause this thing was HUGE…and I laughed and laughed so hard I cried.

Guess you had to be there…

Well Baby Billings is 15 inches long (with feet extended) and weighs about 1.6 lbs.  His/her eyes are beginning to open and response to sound is getting bigger.  Did you know that a baby’s eye color isn’t set until 6-9 months old?  The eye color your baby is born with may not end up being their actual eye color, interesting eh.

Well, I’ll end this long post with a picture of baby at 26 weeks and then later tonight post belly pictures!

25 Weeks Pregnant OR 15 Weeks to Go!

I like the sound of 15 Weeks to go better…wouldn’t you agree Pam 😉

Ah, this week has FLOWN by…so nice!  It’s the one time in your life when you like the fast moving pace of life…well, for some…I am one of those some.  I discovered that some people are very happy, happy, joy, joy over their pregnant 9 months.  I am in no way a “I hate pregnancy” type person but I wouldn’t say I’m a “happy, happy, joy, joy” type person either.  I’m in the middle, as with most of life.  Pretty laid back, go with the flow, I’m happy pregnant but really wish baby would come tomorrow type person.

For example:  I LOVE the fact that I can feel baby move…because it reminds me that there is a little Jon/Diana inside of me.  I am not over the top excited and everyone needs to know that my baby is moving…and gosh darn it, I really wish it would stop the acrobats when I’M trying to sleep 🙂  These past few weeks Baby Billings has picked up the “cutest” habit of going into HIGH gear when I lay down for the night AND he/she likes to wake up when I wake up at any time of the night and start all over!  Seriously, it’s not the normal kick, punch…it’s the whole show…trampoline, high rope, syncronized swimming…the whole deal.  And then, it’s like he/she knows when the sun comes up…cause that’s when it stops, lol

I went to the dentist yesterday and by the summersaults the baby did when they laid me back, he/she either wanted me to sit  up or was really enjoying the position I was in.  You know how they lay you back but it’s further than being flat on your back…so it’s like you’re head is closer to the floor than your feet are.

ALSO, new development…my belly button is protruding more today than it was yesterday and is VERY tender.  Any accidental strike or poke or light touch causes me to wince…new, never been exposed before skin is now exposed to the world.  Who knew it could grow so much in one day!  It is now officially an outie…a little bump on my belly.

ALSO, new development…I now have my first offical stretch mark…ok, make that 2-3 stretch marks.  I just noticed them yesterday and I was depressed for a moment.

I had my latest midwife appointment this last week.  My ultrasound results were in and I have a very healthy baby who’s due date remains the same.  I was 20 weeks when I had my ultrasound…the head was measuring just over 22 weeks along (does that mean he/she will have a big head??) , my abdomen was just over 19 weeks and something else they measured was just over 20 weeks…so all in all I evened out to be 20 weeks along…perfect!

Baby Billings responds to touch at this stage.  I read at Baby Center that if you shine a light on the belly, baby’s head will turn.  Apparently this means that Optic Nerve is operating…yay for Optic Nerve!  Baby is 1.5 lbs now and 13.5 inches long from crown to heel.

Interesting Note:  “They” say that good oral hygiene (brushing, flossing daily) leads to a longer pregnancy.  I guess that means if you don’t want to go “overdue” you should stop your oral hygiene, haha…JK 😉

VBS is starting on Monday…therefore next week should fly by as well…come to think of it I think the rest of August will fly by because I am swamped for the next couple weeks!

25 week pics to come later tonight!

24 Weeks

Yahoo, 24 weeks!

Baby Billings is 11.8 inches from crown to heel and 1.3 lbs.  The brain, lungs & taste buds are growing quite rapidly during this time.  Baby looks like a mini version of what it will look like at birth!

I had my most recent midwife appointment this week.  Everything is going great!  My last ultrasound showed that the baby is good and healthy, yay!

Short blog this week…I’m tired 😉
